Pre-Recorded Webinar: Integrative Oncology in AYA Cancer Care: Whole-Person Support Across Treatment and Survivorship
For adolescents and young adults (AYAs), cancer arrives in the middle of becoming – pursuing an education, forming relationships, establishing identity, imagining a future. In addition to facing numerous developmental life milestones, AYAs also face a number of health disparities and quality of life issues related to cancer that can affect disease outcome, survival rates and coping with the distressing side effects of cancer during treatment and into survivorship. As a result, a growing number of AYAs report access to adequate mental health resources as a top, unmet need. At the same time, emerging research shows integrative health modalities are effective tools that support unique cancer-related psychosocial needs in AYAs.
This webinar brings together leaders in integrative oncology, survivorship, and AYA cancer care to explore how evidence-informed, developmentally responsive care can better support young adults during treatment and into early survivorship.
