Leadership Development
- Opportunity to participate and gain leadership experience by joining or creating a special interest group (SIGs). Link lists current active SIGs and their leaders.

- After participating as a member of an SIO entity for a while, you may have the opportunity to become a co-chair (Co-chairs of committees are able to apply for open access funding support based on their committees activities).
- Based on the above activities and demonstrated commitment to SIO, you may have the opportunity to be nominated for election to the Board of Trustees (3-year term) or an Executive Committee specific role.
