SIO membership includes colleagues from over 40 countries. In order to grow our society’s international reach, the SIO Global Task Force began the SIO International Ambassador Program. Our goal is to name as ambassadors integrative oncology experts from each major world region, and a national ambassador for each nation in that region.
The role of ambassadors is to provide a global network of persons and institutions in the field of integrative oncology which share SIO’s focus on evidence-informed integrative medicine in the context of comprehensive cancer care. SIO envisions sharing and promoting rigorous scientific standards as demonstrated by SIO-ASCO Clinical Practice Guidelines development and publications, and adapting North American guidelines to each region’s unique culture and cancer care field. In this way, we aim to fulfill our mission to improve the lives of those affected by cancer.
