End of Life Care Planning
This presentation will address the complexities of end of life planning with cancer patients, and working with grief after loss. There will be particular focus on communication strategies to assist with end of life planning and goals of care. Additionally, grief and self-care concerns for professionals working with people going through cancer treatment will be addressed.

Sameet Kumar, Ph.D.
Dr. Sameet Kumar in a clinical psychologist at the Memorial Cancer Institute and Moffitt Hematology and Cellular Therapy program. He obtained his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Miami in 2001. He has worked with adults who have cancer as well as their caregivers and families for over 20 years specializing in palliative care, survivorship and grief using mindfulness and existential approaches. He is the author of the bestselling Grieving Mindfully: A Compassionate and Spiritual Approach to Coping with Loss, The Mindful Path Through Worry and Rumination and the workbook Mindfulness for Prolonged Grief.
