Join us for our latest installment of the SIO Educational Webinar Series on Natural Products and the impact of COVID-19. With two dynamic presenters this webinar is split into two parts. Part I: Evidence for Preventing and Treating COVID-19 with Natural Supplements, presented by Dr. Tara Berman. Part II: Molecular Targets for Natural Product Supplements in COVID19 – Practical Clinical Choices Targeting Viral Replication, Inflammatory Cytokine Storm and Coagulopathy, presented by Dr. William LaValley.

12-12:30 pm ET: “Evidence for Preventing and Treating COVID-19 with Natural Supplements,” presented by Tara Berman, MD, MS.

Tara Berman, MD, MS is an oncologist for the Breast/Gyn Malignancies Team in the Office of Oncologic Diseases at Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where she serves as the integrative oncology liaison for the division.  Dr. Berman received her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv and Master of Science in nutrition from Columbia University. She completed her oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute.

12:30–1:00 pm ET: "Molecular Targets for Natural Product Supplements in COVID19 – Practical Clinical Choices Targeting Viral Replication, Inflammatory Cytokine Storm and Coagulopathy,” presented by William LaValley, MD.

William LaValley MD, has been a licensed physician in Austin, Texas and Nova Scotia, Canada since 1988 and graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1986.   His clinical expertise includes treating patients with chronic complex multisystem disease with evidence-based, molecularly-targeted Integrative and Complementary Medicine.   Dr. LaValley provides Molecular Integrative Oncology (MIO) professional consultations for patients (and their families) in professional medical collaboration with their licensed physicians in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Middle East. He was appointed by the Minister of Health of Canada to the Expert Advisory Committee of the Natural Health Products Directorate for the development of Regulations for Natural Health Products in Canada from 2000-2004.   Since 1994, he has chaired the Integrative & Complementary Medicine Section in Doctors Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia division of the Canadian Medical Association.

The session will include a 5-10 minute Q&A session following each of the presentations.
